About The Project

This project is carried out to respond to the worry of the author himself, and likely most people who have no background knowledge of machine engine. The word Bengkel comes from Indonesian language which means, garage. Therefore, this project is about an idea of finding a closest garage from the place in which the vehicle breaks down, which is manifested into a mobile application.

My Role

This project is conducted independently by the author and by the help of some people involved, such as respondents or target users. Hence, all of the process or steps were completed by the author, including user research and interview, design creation and exploration, and usability testing.

The Process

The project was run by following the most popular method of Design Thinking which was back then invented by an engineer named Larry Leifer. The stage of Design Thinking consists of Empathise, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test.

1. Empathise

A very simple research was conducted by having an open discussion with people who have very limited understanding of machine engine since this type group of people are the target and the potential users of the project.

Furthermore, idea exploration was carried out to determine what flow and system would be the most suitable and familiar to users. Eventually, the idea of bringing together mechanics with their customers seem to fit the users since this system has risen to fame in this day and age.

Affinity Map

I had gathered information about what might concerns the potential audience while they are on the way heading somewhere and when their vehicle breaks down all of sudden. Here is a map of pain points which they would think of and feel if it happened to them.
